Star Mafia Boy – Arcana Cabaret 2012
I will not join the ongoing discussion about whether the new album from Star Mafia Boy, Cabaret Arcane is the best of his career, since, as I said in some places, that’s like asking a parent which of their children wants more. What if I have very clear is that what you are doing this currante of Rock’n’Roll is not available to many artists, either in this country or beyond our borders.
I want to emphasize, that if the Arcana is for me his album more Guitar Mafia, with that which has always been cocky, but with a kind of look back at the time of composing the songs. I guess it may be due to feelings of everyone but, as well Gunner said in his review, I think his solo album more Punk and more bad host.
COALITION – IN SEARCH OF FOREVER 2012
UK prog rock band COALITION is Steve Gresswell (writer/keyboards/drums and bass guitar) Phil Braithwaite (writer/guitars) and Paul Bulger (vocals).Coalition is a name Steve Gresswell has been using since 1991 for various projects. This incarnation of Coalition was formed in 2010 specifically to record and release an album with a view to “getting out there” and playing the tracks live. Coalition is made up of professional musicians who have been in the music industry for many years.
ANDREAS ALEMAN – It’s The Journey (2012)
Swedish soulful West Coast singer, songwriter, keyboardist & producer ANDREAS ALEMAN grabbed my attention with his debut CD in 2009.
It became clear right away that this cat meant business with baritone vocals left me wondering if this is what Robbie Dupree or Michael McDonald might have sounded-like today if they were born only 40 years ago.
Bring us up to 2012 and this blue eyed soul disciple of McDonald finds himself right in the middle of an incredible wave of extraordinary music coming out of Sweden and Norway from other artists like Ole Borud, Work Of Art, State Cows, Steffan Gunnarsson and more with his sophomore release entitled “It’s The Journey”.

Self-described as a combination of “robot rock rhythms and riffs of Queens of the Stone Age, the alt-rock/hardcore of Fugazi, the prog-metal leanings of Tool, the sparse, accessible arrangements of early U2, and those tell-tale “post-rock” chords commonly associated with Isis,” The Next Hundred Years really do have their own sound ; one that’s gaining momentum.
Ever since being selected as the Fox Band of the Month on BC’s Home of Independent Music, the band has received airplay and was invited to showcase at The Roxy, to the delight of their steadily growing fan base.

Moonspell – Alpha Noir 2012
Portuguese gothic metallers MOONSPELL will release their new album,“Alpha Noir”, on April 27 via the band’s new label home, Napalm Records.
The cover artwork for the CD — an intricate, marvellous and symbolic creation by Seth Siro Anton, the Greek artist who collaborated with the band on “Night Eternal” — can be seen below. Soundgarden – Live To Rise (Single) (2012)
SOUNDGARDEN‘s first song in 15 years, “Live To Rise”, which will be featured in the end credits to this year’s highly anticipated movie,“Marvel’s The Avengers”, is available for streaming in its entirety atKISW.com. “Live To Rise” is included on “Avengers Assemble”, a 14-track compilation of music from and inspired by the film. “Avengers Assemble” will be released on May 1.
SOUNDGARDEN stated, “We’ve been hard at work on our new album, which will come out this fall. When the opportunity arose to write an original song for ‘Marvel’s The Avengers’ film came our way, we thought it could be a cool match. We are excited to release our new song ‘Live To Rise’, which is also the only new song in the film.”
“The Avengers” original motion picture soundtrack, with score by Oscar-nominated and Grammy-winning composer Alan Silvestri (“Captain America: The First Avenger”, “Forrest Gump”, the “Back To The Future” trilogy) will be available at online retailers on May 1.

SOUNDGARDEN entered singer Chris Cornell‘s studio in Los Angeles in March 2011 to begin recording the band’s first album in 15 years.
Adam Kaspar, who co-produced SOUNDGARDEN‘s last record, 1996’s“Down On The Upside”, has been working with the group on the new effort as well.
When asked how he would compare SOUNDGARDEN‘s new material to the group’s previous efforts, Cornell told Australia’s rock station Triple M, “It sounds like SOUNDGARDEN, but I wouldn’t say it’s similar. I think there are parts of it that are gonna remind anybody of us, but we’ve always kind of progressed from album to album. So it’s definitely not a throwback. It’s not us getting back to our roots — it’s not that — it’s just kind of a natural progression, I think.”
SOUNDGARDEN released a CD/DVD retrospective set in September 2010 called “Telephantasm”, featuring singles, album cuts, live material and the previously unavailable “Black Rain”, which has been nominated for aGrammy Award.
SOUNDGARDEN‘s first-ever official concert album, titled “Live On I5”, sold 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 47 on The Billboard 200 chart. The set is compiled of live tracks from a 1996 West Coast tour by the band and is named after the Interstate 5. SOUNDGARDEN had intended to release the tapes of these shows as its first live album shortly after the tour, but the group ended up disbanding and the tapes were left in the studio, untouched for years.
