Glam rock (also known as glitter rock) is a style of rock and pop music that developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s, which was performed by singers and musicians who wore outrageous clothes, makeup and hairstyles, particularly platform-soled boots and glitter. The flamboyant costumes and visual styles of glam performers were often camp or androgynous, and have been connected with new views of gender roles.
The first half of 2012 brings us a new L.A. Guns studio album — and since there have been two versions of the band I suppose we should let you know which one this is. Felony was born out of the 80s, coming together in 1989 when glam/hair metal was in full swing. Now they are back, or at least finally getting their music out to the public thanks to Eonian Records – although there is talk of the band recording brand new material as well.

In 2009, Eonian Records has been uncovering some classic metal acts that never got their due. Chicago’s Uzi is another band that showed a lot of potential, but by the time they relocated to L.A., the hair metal scene was dead. If this band would have made the move five years earlier, they could have made their mark on the music scene. There a quite a few cool rockers on Madhouse that are worth checking out.
To be honest, I’ve been waiting awhile for this debut album from the Danish band St. Prostitute. I’ve been following the band since 2009 (when they were calledL.A. Prostitutes) up until now, and was even fortunate enough to visit them in the studio while recording Here Come The Prostitutes. (more…)

Glitter 4 Your Soul is the debut solo album by Poison drummer Rikki Rockett, released in 2003 (and reissued in 2008). The record features former Poison band member Blues Saraceno on guitars also Poison front man Bret Michaels provides lead vocals for “Tear it Down” and Rikki Rockett himself sings his first lead vocal on “Life’s a Gas.”
