“Telling people our vision of this world, that’s what we always wanted to do… this album is an indissoluble fusion of lyrics and music, it’s a journey through beautiful and bad things that surround us every day!” – Fabio Dessi (Fabian).
Golden Sextion is a hard rock band founded in Modena in 2007 by Faust and Loose: their aim is to create modern and sophisticated songs, trying to merge at best their influences to impress the audience and to gain more and more fans!
The line-up stabilized in 2009, and consists of Fabio Dessi (Fabian) on vocals, Fausto Giovannini (Faust) on bass, Andrea Lusenti (Loose) on guitars and Gianvittorio Vandelli(Jean) on drums: the guys quickly obtain approval and support from a growing fan base, and decide together to enter the studio to record their first album, “The Silicon Age”.

These dudes from Black-Bone have got their shit together. As they started five years ago they were between twelve and fifteen years old. And now, five years later, they can already look back at an impressive list of gigs in clubs, at festivals and as opening act for bands like Deep Purple, Chickenfoot and Slash. With all these experiences, a big dose of will and with producer Oscar Holleman they went into the studio the other day. The result of that is this first full length and it sounds like Black-Bone has done nothing else then playing dirty rock ‘n roll for ages.

now…From Sweden
Jetbone is a Rock & Roll band from Punksvall, Sweden.
The band has existed since 2008 melting down their special brew of Power Pop, Blues & Boogie. Jetbone is an explosive load of straight forward Rock & Roll! The members of the band have known each other since they were kids, growing up together playing soccer and hockey among other things. During their high shcool years they merged together with a mutual interest in good music. By mixing their different influences they developed their own style of Rock & Roll, deriving their sound mainly from 1970’s hard rock and rock bands such as Kiss, The Faces and The Rolling Stones. They’re also influenced by the likes of Jackson Browne and you’ll also definitely hear some echoes of the 90’s Garage/Punk wave. Raunchy hard hitting guitars, wild drums, a screaming organ and a punchy bass all topped with punky “spit it out” vocals are some of the ingredients of their of their clean-cut new rocking tunes, Jetbone Rock & Roll.

Not for the faint hearted or pussy glamsters and sleazsters, Motochrist play bitchin’ rock ‘n’ roll soaked in the dregs of punk rock with Motorhead and Ramones thrown in for good measure, as well as the odd curveball and melodies and twisted lyrics to boot. ‘Live To Kill Another Day’ proving the point perfectly, kicking things off on a barnstorming riff that Lemmy would be proud of before ‘The Fist’ pulls up on a killer guitar lick with sufficiently violent lyrics – This shit is the bomb right here, picking up teeth indeed. If this were played in a night club a riot would ensue, no doubt about it. Never mind the fist, this is like an exocet going off. Motochrist change pace on the title track with a suitably summery keyboard and Beach Boys melody and harmonies to boot, the cheeky scamps!

Swedes! A power trio! Girls! A name that resembles ‘foursome’! This must be my lucky day and a sure winner, yes? No. Unfortunately for these no doubt very likeable personalities I just reviewed Crucified Barbara & Barbe-Q-Barbies and both were ranging from good to very good so ‘Solitarium’ is the odd one out, unfortunately. Not that there’s isn’t any talent present in this fine band, because there’s plenty. It all just sounds so very… overdone, so over-thought. The sound is crispy clean, the girls obviously know how to play their instruments but there’s nothing lasting going on here. This is rock ‘n’ roll, people, or it should be. As a comparison, Fourever resembles good-girl Sandy from Grease. You know, the blond dolled-up Pink Ladies member played by Olivia Newton-John. And what we want is the leathered-up Sandy that gets touched up by John Travolta in the carnival at the end of the movie, the feline-like one with the endless possibilities and opportunities. Al the rest is boring

XFactor1 was formed with the intent of bringing decadence, passion, and intensity to the people who matter most, the fans. XFactor1’s dedication and strong work ethic proves their desire to be seen and heard and once prompted a writer for a rock magazine to proclaim them “Americas blue collar band”. They wear it like a badge of honor!
With the help of their favorite sponser Jagermeister and through their own efforts, XFactor1 has played alongside some of the top bands in active rock on the Mayhem, Uproar, and Rock On The Range festivals. Xfactor1 has toured nationally with Mushroomhead, Flaw, Psychostick, Boba?ex, etc.

Striking a balance between ’80s glam and the crunchier riffs of ’90s hard rock is not only an uneasy task, but most bands frankly suck at it entirely. New Jersey’s Spider Rockets avoid most of the crossover pitfalls by primarily sticking to sleaze touchstones, merely using the simplistic chords and loud guitars of ’90s rock to underline their glam roots.
Actually, Bitten isn’t really even so much an ’80s/’90s hybrid as it is reminiscent of those early-to-mid-’90s albums that ’80s glam bands would put out in an attempt to modernize their sound. Most of those cases were failed, misguided attempts to hang on to a fan base that was bailing on them in droves for the greener pastures of punk and grunge (think such notorious disasters such as Def Leppard‘s Slang and L.A. Guns‘ American Hardcore). The upside to this being 2012 is that punk and grunge are no longer the cash in opportunities they were 15-20 years ago, and God knows selling glam won’t get you rich anymore, so anyone currently plying these styles in a purely melodic sense are doing so in all earnestness.
