SOULS OF DIOTIMA – What Remains of the Day 2012

Now

Symphonic album with many features and techniques happening all at the same time. The mix of English and Italian  vocals expressed by vocalist ‘Barsi’ has opened up this album beyond limitations and this combined with the death metal growls powers its way through the path of the unknown. The solo guitars display great understand of not just ‘Neo-Classical’ shredding, but total understand of Blues and metal phrasing at its best. Heavily influenced licks such as those of Y. Malmsteen, J. Becker, and R. Marcello are frequently heard among the passages not only in the guitars but the keyboards as well. The great use of a full symphonic orchestra at their disposal has created atmospheric elements and textures to the overall sound of each track including the ‘Intro’ and ‘Von Braun’ which on the bonus track is quite simply exquisite to hear.

First coming-out for the band SPEED Teutonic DOCTOR.
Actually there are four doctors who now have been serving the metal music, and hear them is a luxury, at least they know how to play as regards operations carried him pretty bad.

His music is quite difficult to label, Heavy Metal sounds, the voice can sometime reach the MetalGod remember, in this rare fusion there is also time for the Progressive and above, and as you will have proven, there are also some Speed Metal. The record label with which they worked, is the alemás MDD Records, which went on sale last May 18 debut “Face to Face”.

Rawburt – Musketeer 2012

Super!Now!

Bio: GIT LA, ex Human Race guitarist, now with my own band RAWBURT. Three albums released by Human Race “Strange Horizons” (Jap), “For The Sake OF Your Soul” (Jap+EU) and “Dirteater” (EU).

Björn Jansson is one of Sweden’s hidden treasures when it comes to vocalists. Slightly crispy, he hits every tone and the charisma is hard to beat. Mind you, I am normally not a fan of screamy voices but this guy really catches my attention. Take the mid-tempo tune “Born Again” as an example; the half-note jumps in melodies and chords are almost slightly doom oriented, and I even think of some later albums by GLENN HUGHES here. A funky attitude is shown here and there – for example in “The Psycho Man”. If anyone bought the great album by SPEEDY GONZALES (Tommy Denander, Thomas Vikström and some other good musicians) you will absolutely like this one as well.

Confidence – Prelude 2012

Hoping to capitalize on the new era digital media distribution is Sweden rockers Confidence. Casting aside labels and CD releases, Confidence plans to release all their material in a digital format (although I got a CD, thank you very much), basically four to five tunes, twice a year. Hail the new technology. Prelude is their debut, their first toe in the digital stream so to speak.

Kev Bayliss – The Project 2011

Now! ehhh!

For those of you with a keen ear, Kevin Bayliss was the vocalist with Voodoo Johnson, a Midland based hard rock band who released 2 E.P’s and  the excellent ‘10,000 Horses’, their 2010 debut album. These releases served to demonstrate the vocal prowess of Bayliss who decided to part company with the band citing the enemy of all musicians ‘musical differences’.

However not wishing to rest on his laurels Bayliss pulled together a group of musicians and set about writing and recording his debut solo album. And ‘The Project’ is the result of all those hours of soul searching and endeavour.

Love and a .38 – Love and a .38 2010 (EP)

now…ooo

Los Angeles based rockers Love And A .38 are asking for their fans to help fund the recording on a new album. Says the band, “We’ve been doing this rock and roll thing for a few years now, and as a result we’ve got a lot of music that we want to get out to you guys. Trouble is… if we try to pay for it ourselves… it’s gonna take a long time. A REALLY long time. We’d love to expedite the process. Since we know that we have the greatest fans in the world, we thought maybe you guys could help. The studio’s out here in La-La Land ain’t cheap, and neither are quality engineers. So we’re asking you guys to give whatever you can to help us pay these wonderful people. We’ve put together what we think are some pretty rad reward packages for those who donate… so take a look. We’ve set our goal at $15,000. That should be enough to rent out the studio, pay for all the tracking, mixing, and (hopefully) production. If we miraculously surpass our goal… we PROMISE to put that money directly into a “tour” fund so we can come and rock YOUR hometown. That’s the ultimate goal anyway… to bring our rock to all of our awesome fans. You’ve earned it! So please, if you have the means, lend a helping hand. We won’t let you down!”
