Scream in Eden formed in the early 90s and they gain a short recognation with the song “Till the End” released in 1991 on the Star Song compilation Brave New World. In 1992 the band changed their name to Eden and released their first full lenght debut album, titled “Fan the Flame” but the lack of promotion prevented the album the gain the success it deserved. In 2003 the album was digitally re-mastered and re-issued by Retroactive Records with a new cover while in 2008 the band returning to their original name “Scream in Eden” and re-issuing the album via Z-Rock Records with a new title named “Original Sin, again with a new cover artwork.
Musically the band combine hard rock with a metal edge, the production is totally strong, with strong melodies, huge chorus hooks, great dual guitar riffs and soaring vocals. Th album contain song that easily can be part of any hard rock/metal compilation and gain airplay success on the radio. The opening guitar riffs in “Forgotten Child” where you can hear on the sample, is a superb example of the band’s quality, personal favorite and a strong anthem to play loud. The straightforward hard rockin’ “Need Somebody” is another gem of this record, with strong guitar riffs, powerful backing vocals and a huge chorus to die for. “Show me” is another winner reminds the golden era of the early 90s, a hard rock song with a glam touch, “Tomorrow’s Yesterday” with a bluesy touch and the acoustic laced ballad “Fan the Flame”, are some of the songs that standout of this record.
The rest of the songs are also powerful with emphasis on guitars riffs that definetely you will love. If you are in vein of bands like Dokken, Tesla, Babylon A.D., Joshua and Whitecross, don’t miss this album if you find it.
