Robin – Over All Seven Seas (1990)
A friend sent this otherwise unknown disc to me and I was immediately hooked. I cannot describe my excitement on hearing this for the first time. I am a fanatic when it comes to uptempo melodic rock and AOR with keyboards and great harmony vocals. This CD fit the prescription to a “T”. A solid effort from start to finish it is almost overwhelming because I am not accustomed to hearing this quality in most of the stuff reaching my ears today.
Just listen to the opener “Go For Gold” and you know what I mean: It starts with a killer chorus that hits you right in your ear and goes on with typical stabbing keys and some great guitar riffs. What a killer sound!!!!! Like a mix of DELAURIAN, SURPRISES, DOMINOE, DOMAIN and EMERGENCY!!! The music of ROBIN is great AOR with big keys and fantastic choruses! Well, to make it short: If you like well produced melodic AOR with great keyboards, great guitarwork and one highlight after another, this is your ticket!
