TEN – Heresy And Creed (2012)
UK rockers TEN new studio album “Heresy And Creed” is ready to be released on October 19 in Europe and October 22 in North America.
For the band’s tenth studio CD, TEN singer and songwriter Gary Hughes worked very hard to live up to the fans’ expectations.
The new TEN lineup — featuring new axeman Dan Mitchel, Darrel Treece-Birch on keyboards and Max Yates on drums, along with longtime member John Halliwell and returning bassist Steve McKenna — has complemented Hughes’s efforts in creating one the best albums in TEN’s history.
“Heresy And Creed” once again marks the perfect union between grandiose and epic hard rock tunes, blending very melodic, hook-laden singalong songs such as the Journey-like “Another Rainy Day” or the monster AOR of “Game Of Hearts” with elaborated symphonic tracks plenty of interesting arrangements and sounds.
We have as well the intense and haunting mid-tempos and power ballads to complete the typical TEN tapestry.
To my ears, “Heresy And Creed” is the more complete and impactful album from TEN in the last (no pun intended) 10 years.
This new line-up has benifited Hughes immensely, creating an album of 67 minutes of pure delight.
