Close Quarters – We Believe In Rock ‘N’ Roll 2011
Close Quarters is a Swedish rock ‘n’ roll band that was formed in 2006 by Martin ‘KK’ Karlsson (lead guitar), Viktor Granlund (vocals and guitar), David Svensson (drums/percussion) and Martin Hederberg on bass . The band has recorded a couple of demos throughout the years [The Street Brawl EP (2007),Pleasure Under Pressure (2008) and Close Quarters (2009)] but 2011 is definitely their time to release their debut album “We Believe In Rock ‘N’ Roll”.
The album produced by Tomas Skogsberg (The Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, Entombed, Dismember etc) is another fine example of the taste in music Scandinavians have. With influences from the Rolling Stones and AC/DC, KISSand the Hellacopters – Close Quarters deliver a simple but yet addictive rock n roll. There is no doubt that this band has an ability on writing hit songs, keeping the pace at high levels from the beginning to the end of this album.
If I needed to find something that I didn’t like on this album that’s the clean production – I would have preferred the production to be a little bit dirtier or even punkier. And of course the album cover – it just sucks.
