Daniel Trigger-Infinite Persistence 2012
Now
Daniel Trigger is an experienced hard rock artist from the Midlands UK, who has just released an album of original work called “Infinite Persistence”.
It was in fact Europe that kick-started Daniel’s music career in 1989, where “The Final Countdown” was played during a laser light show at the London Planetarium which a young Daniel attended. Immediately deciding he wanted to make music that sounded “like that”, Daniel formed his first band at the age of 15, and stepped up to the microphone for the first time.
Four years later, Daniel’s rock music career was almost de-railed altogether when weeks and months of untrained rock singing in poor quality rehearsal rooms using lo-fi equipment took their toll on his voice. On seeking advice from an Ear, Nose & Throat consultant, Daniel was diagnosed with a distorted larynx, and was ordered to stop singing for the foreseeable future. Six months of speech therapy followed, and then in an unfaltering display of persistence, Daniel embarked on 4 years of singing lessons.
On returning to his position centre stage, Daniel then spent several years perfecting his craft with a number of different bands, the most notable being heavy metal outfit “Full Tilt”, and blues/rock band “Easy”.
In 2003, Daniel opted to return to his original plan of forming his own band, where he could write exactly the type of melodic stadium rock he wanted to perform. And so, “Trigger” was formed with wife Sally Trigger, plus teenage guitarist Dave D’Andrade.
Trigger went from strength to strength, with Daniel’s brand of melodic rock and the showmanship of the band creating a buzz around the Midlands. The band had a number of successes, including recording 4 albums (2 of which were reviewed in Classic Rock magazine), selling out the 300-capacity Bromsgrove Artrix Theatre, having a song used in a film, having songs played on regional, national and international radio, and performing at the town fireworks display to an audience of 22,000. In 2005, Daniel also won “Best Singer/Songwriter” at the Midlands Guitar Hero competition.
Trigger finally closed it’s doors in 2011, following an extensive and exhausting gigging schedule for many years. By this time, Daniel was already 1 year into recording his new solo album “Infinite Persistence”, which also features performances from Trigger musicians past and present.
So here we are, quite a journey Mr. Trigger has had, but a productive one, and it shows though out this record, as he powers his way through 14 storming tracks built around the now classic 80’s rock sound.
‘Sell My Soul’ gets this release off to a fine start, powerful crisp singing from Mr. Trigger and a track full of power chords, this one certainly gets your head banging,
‘Losing My Faith’ follows the opening tracks direction, plenty of chunky riffs and a killer solo, and then its all change for track number three, ‘Alone Tonight’ as the keyboards take centre stage, paving the way for another melodic rock track, leaning a little on the heavy side though, and all the better for it.
All the tracks on this cd fall neatly in the Melodic rock category, with plenty of Harmonies, killer riffs and at times, simply stunning fret work.
The melodies and the harmonies just keep coming, with tracks like ‘one way mirror’ and ‘Pendulum’ really pushing Daniels voice, the rest of the band are equally as accomplished, with sally’s vocal part working really well on ‘Synthetic Celebrity’ and ‘Promised Land’.
‘Last Breath’ is the albums stand out slow track, a simply stunning keyboard laden ballad.
This is just a great cd, well produced, all the tracks have been well crafted, and I can’t find fault with any of them.
