As a founding member of British punk pioneers the Sex Pistols, his guitar playing provided a trailblazing and furious backdrop to a sound that changed the face of rock. Amazingly it was the fact that Steve’s stun-guitar riffs and adroit chord changes that enthralled fans and critics alike, turning what, under normal circumstances, were simplistic songs into 24 Karat classics
