Anders Norman – I’ts Time (2008)
Anders started his first band as a 10 year old drummer and played his first concert in school. A few years later he started playing guitar as it was easier to sing and play the guitar. He started a family at an early age and got a career, a house and a stationwagon. The years past and Anders realized one day that he was chasing someone else´s dream.
He eventually quit working and started playing for a living. His debut album “It´s time” tells the story of breaking up and starting something new. “It´s time to walk the wire, if you´re waiting for the change you might be stuck in a lie”. The songs are taken from his life during this period. Many people can relate to these situations, hopefully get inspired and maybe even “walk the wire” themselves.
One of the biggest influences in Anders Norman´s life is Tony Carey. His mentor, producer and brother. Tony produced two albums, “It´s time” and “Easy Street”. All recorded and produced in TC´s studio in Germany. Many long weeks in the studio with lots of laughs and sick jokes. The multi-instrumentalist Tony has produced Joe Cocker, Peter Maffay & Dave Knopfler to mention a few. He’s also a legendary keyboardplayer in the band Rainbow.
Norman´s third album ”Just Another Mile” was recorded in Copenhagen with Marcus Liliequist as producer. It wasn´t planned to be a new album, it just happened. Anders asked Marcus to put some drumtracks on a new song (Just another mile), Marcus asked if he could produce it, and he invited some friends and some of Scandinavia’s top musicians showed up, Jonas Krag, Hannibal Gustafsson, Lars “DK” Nielsen, Oliver McEwan, Berra Karlsson, Vicky Singh, Line Krogholm to mention a few. And the rest is, as they say, a mystery.
Anders and Marcus went to Nashville and got it mastered the by the Five-Time-Grammy-Award-Winner Richard Dodd. A great guy, a true genius who also had some great stories to tell. He has worked with some of the big ones, Tom Petty, Steve Earle and he produced Joey Tempest´s “Azalea Place” in that same studio.
Anders Norman has been a performer for the last 10 years. Live on TV, guested several major radiostations and talkshows. He played numerous festivals in Sweden, Germany, Finland and USA. Not to mention the many clubs and pubs…he certainly have paid (or played) his dues! Go and see him live. It’s worth your while.
