Von Groove – The Seventh Day (Deluxe Edition Remaster+3 bonus) 2015
Von Groove were another terrific melodic rock band that released their debut album at just the wrong time. By 1992, this kind of music was on the outs, and these guys would in no way achieve any success here in the States.
Like a typical melodic rock record of the early 1990’s, this album is loaded with big choruses, huge harmonies and awesome production. I would never claim Canada to be a hotspot for melodic rock back in the day, but they had some really solid bands that never got any attention. It’s really a shame this record isn’t more well-known among hard rock fans, these guys made a really decent debut album. Favorite songs are “Once Is Not Enough,” “Better Than Ever,” “C’mon C’mon” and “Can’t Get Too Much.”
Pick this album up if you enjoy melodic rock bands from the early 90’s. No way you’ll be disappointed with these guys, and you make actually wanna track down other releases of theirs as well.
