MPG – MPG 1981 (2010)
The wait is over!! After 30 years, this one and only album released by MPG has garnered quite a cult status amongst AOR and melodic pomp rock collectors and is regarded as one of the best of the genre — and it finally sees an official release on the CD format!! With soaring vocals and stellar harmonies, incredible keyboard and guitar interplay and some of the best songs written in the early 1980’s — this should be high on your want list, if it hasn’t been already! Produced by Tom Knox, best known for his extensive work with Toto.
This silver pressed CD was remastered by guitarist David Mikeal himself in his top notch studio in Winter Park, Florida. It also includes 4 rare , previously unreleased high quality bonus demo tracks that were cut before MPG were signed in 1981. MPG’s fantastic brand of melodic pomp rock / AOR has been compared to the likes of Face Dancer, New England, Styx, Toto, Boston, Kansas, Touch, etc..
