Kenny McGee – And Lefty (1997)
Kenny McGee is one hell of a show stopper!! Yes it’s true ladies and gents! Mix in DOKKEN with SKID ROW and toss in a bit of blues and the melodic side of JULLIET and you could have bits and pieces of this one!!!
The biography omits mentioning whether some of this stuff was written as early as the 80?s when McGee fronted the glam act Julliet, but most of this stuff has seen release on the Lefty album from 1997.
This album is produced well and the musicians (Tommy Vincent, Billy Weber, Dean Domizio, Christian Hamlett) take care of their duties flawlessly and altogether this a good album. This is for the fans of late 80?s/early 90?s melodic hard rock
There are a few excellent songs here that I have to mention. The opener Dont Ya Worry is right there in your face to give a taste of whats to come. It Aint Over is one of the best power ballads that Ive come across in a while, good melody, blazing guitars and chorus. Dark and harsh guitar of Withches Brew appealed to me and atmosphere in Take the Fall took me right back to the early 90s when I was listening to my collection of hair bands in my tape recorder. All in all Kenny McGee is a safe choice if youre looking for well produced music ranging from power ballads to some serious rockers.
