Manteye – Manteye (1990)
Acoustic Melodic Rock album with a Country/southern touch. Not good, not bad, listenable, with good production and good vocals. Hailed from Ontario, Manteye are yet another one of those formerly obscure bands that are now being recognized as producing a truly memorable CD. It’s earthy but not soft. The rockier tunes are chunky and powerful, and the ballads are simply sublime.
In the 1990’s Manteye became a hot commodity in his native Canada with a few pop country hits that reached mainstream success and received nominal play for their two singles/videos “Belts, Boots” and “Seven Minutes To Midnight”, but this wasn’t enough to go further and the band disbanded until 2010 when they started to write new song for an upcoming album…
