Open Fire – No Uncle Of Mine (1995)
Lots of power & attitude, but most of the songs lack a good hook. Still, if you like it hard & heavy (musically-speaking, that is), then this rare little indie may get you all fired up. Not the worst thing you’ve ever heard, but certainly not the best either. The guitars really crank though, bristling with the kind of heavy edge that will have AOR-lovers screaming “Uncle!” Open Fire are basically a guitar oriented metal band with some hard rock influences. If you’re into bands like Asphalt Ballet and Wildside then you may like this one.
