Rumble – Face Down, Bottoms Up (1995)
This is the 1st release by the Massachusetts based band RUMBLE, formed in 1993. Released in 1995, the debut EP sold out quickly & was never re-issued after the initial 3 pressings. ‘Face Down, Bottoms Up’ showcases the early sound of the group, rooted much more in the Skid Row/Black Sabbath vein than the rapcore style that would later catapult them into the successful east coast circuit touring staple in the late 90s/early 2000s.
Of the 5 tracks, ‘Father Chester’ is a standout, with its eery church organ accenting the lyrical theme of a child abusing priest, as well as ‘Shit End of the Stick’, which sounds like a song Soundgarden SHOULD HAVE recorded for Badmotorfinger! Hope you enjoy this one, ripped from my personal CD. A long out of print gem that’s hard to find unless you’re trolling weekend flea markets in MA/NH!
