Drakkar – Once upon a Time… in Hell! (2014)
The DRAKKAR group was created in 1983 but it was not until two years later that the quintet found a steady line-up and its musical direction. During these two years, the group creates and evolves into a melodic and technical SPEED METAL, which will fly many times during their live performances.
[spoiler]In 1985, DRAKKAR released his first demo three Securities K7 produced by Rudy Lenners (Ex. SCORPIONS) demo that will critically acclaimed and fan SPEED METAL, each not hesitating to compare the group with the best heavy metal bands / Speed Metal German at the time. This record allowed DRAKKAR to be offered a deal with MAUSOLEUM records.
The group frequently between 1985 and 1986, mainly in Belgium and northern France, being awarded with the growing enthusiasm of the fans every day.
In 1987, still under the artistic direction of Rudy Lenners, DRAKKAR recorded another demo. The quality of the compositions and the power generated by the pieces allows the group to enter into a contract with artistic NEW MUSIDISC. X-RATED The album was released in 1988.
With this first full album, DRAKKAR was quickly regarded by everyone as one of the most pro¬metteurs scene European Speed Metal groups.
X-RATED is distributed throughout Europe and the group earns stripes and enthusiasm of an entire audience with excellent services and support offerings for legendary bands such as Queensrÿche / Metallica and Overkill / Slayer on some of their European tours.
But despite their growing success, DRAKKAR decided to split a few years later due to contractual difficulties. Each player then decides to try his luck everyone on his side, but decided to reform in 1998 to continue work let off some years ago. The group tries to reproduce com¬positions melodious quality, perfectionists, and powerful techniques that have made the success of Drakkar on X-Rated.
In 1999, Drakkar is back with an EP containing five songs which attracts the attention of boxes of the music industry, enabling the group to get back on track. After a test-gig before a Belgian court still enthusiastic despite the years, the group decided to wait a moment to prepare his return. The group decided to attempt to produce a few exclusive shows such as Eurock FESTIVAL in 2000 in Germany. Another break puts unfortunately the group brackets.
Finally ready to 200% DRAKKAR is back, first with a “reunion show” held in Mons 21 January 2012 The group’s line-up nine 3 guitars and present a concert that will fire …
Beginning of 2012 also saw the legendary album of X-RATED group out with a new mastering a new artwork and two previously unreleased tracks on the Belgian label: Ultimhate Records.
An official clip and two new studio tracks (“Alone” and “Erik the Red”) come out in early September 2012 to announce the actual return of the group, produced by Simone Mularoni (producer and guitarist of DGM and Empyrios group)[/spoiler]
