Dirty Americans – Black Feather 2011

Michigan Rock!…think Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Monster Magnet, & the Who with some great Detroit bands thrown in for inspiration (Stooges, Alice Cooper, MC5)…hard, dark, psychedelic, and infectious!

Detroit rockers Dirty Americans do not hurry in making albums, their debut “Strange generation” was released on Roadrunner in 2004 and then they followed up with 2 EPs in 2007 and 2008. So it was about time a new full length album hit the streets, this summer they deliver the 10 track album “Black feather” which is mixed by Tim Patalan (Taproot) and features keyboardist Jimmie Bones (Kid Rock) on the Bob Seger cover “Lucifer”.

What a great version, they sound like Black Sabbath and Uriah Heep all together in this lovely cover. I come to think of Big Elf in the more psychedelic and super heavy “Seven sides of me”, early70´s riff rock from its best side.
