Sombras Del Destino – Quebrantahuesos (2012)
The band is called to get on the powerful scene with bands Andalusian Saurom size, Azrael, Sphinx and many others that deserve all the luck for their quality and delivery, but which we’ll discuss in due course.Sombras del Destino practice are basically characterized by a heavy / power metal classic life, his voice by Angel Ruiz, with a fairly sharp ring that reminded me a lot, the whatever first Avalanch vocalist, Juan Lozano, later in Brecha ..The guitars are made by Victor Chica and Carlos Fuentes and passages are very classic, with powerful riffs, melodies recognizable easily, splittings of guitars, tapping and resources classic heavy / power, that we like.
In the bass lines and drum parts are respectively Francisco Roa and Alberto Fuentes, giving the rhythm that has all the hard . A hard, although certainly not bring anything new, it’s easy listening and catchy enough tracks.
The battery uses twice as much hype, almost entirely, but to give strength and forcefulness very metalera, because in reality, listening well and carefully, not the fast disk that lets you first listen, but has a wide range with many different half-times, but that if very heavys and very guitar!
The disc opens with Si vis Pacem…para Bellum. A drum and guitar intro with a subtle accompaniment of keyboards, which opens like a military march, symphonic orchestrations nothing but a foretaste of what will be the album itself, very direct, simple and effective.
Then Oro Negro, is bound to evoke a Starlight from Helloween, erroneously made and we will not be able to remove the head during the first listening, but as I say it would be unfair to stay with that.
the theme is pure heavy metal lifetime!
A través del Espejo, is a simple subject, simple and yet is of the ones I have caught and hooked, it is that my brain has been to hum in the most unexpected moments. Part-time double-bass drum, with catchy melody, chorus captivating and classical formulas but effective so successful that gave the Maiden, as a change in tone when doing the solo.
I must comment again, the disc is full of heavy metal as always, and I can only, rather than comment on some points as the title track to the album, guitar-eminently, of acute and marked with a riff more heavy. That sounds Quebrantahuesos, from which we can view the video clip just above.
Hijos de la Noche leads to the memory of other classics, but this time national and Muro and also be seen as an influence of the band. Very fast and hoooked song.
Another track that I liked, plus an excellent Elite highly recommended and gives a distinctive touch to the disc is Sucio Trovador, being original, both in letter and as a whole. With many harmonics to the length of their riffs, and voice work, really recommended
Desde debajo del suelo, a matter slower, even where there are parts where the bass takes center stage
The album ends with Pasaporte a la eternidad, calling much attention, that being a good metal album, does not have a ballad, which certainly we miss.
In any case, good debut from Jaén, and surely defend live faithfully and attractive. Recommended!
